With renowned researchers and specialists in their field such as Professor Barry Willer, Professor Ciaran Bolger, Dr Stephen Kara and NZ Rugby’s Dr Danielle Salmon this conference is sure to be educational, inspirational and a practical addition to any clinicians professional development.

Online Support Forum – We want to make it easy for the families and caregivers of those with Brain Injury to have a place to share and ask questions and interact with others who may be able to share some helpful advice or just a safe place to vent – so we have created an online forum for families/whanau, friends and caregivers of those with Brain Injury. This is a closed group for those described above and also two of our staff from the Hawke’s Bay Region. Dairne and Debbie from the Hawke’s Bay BIA will be in the group to share any info and answer your questions, so please join us

Liasion Officer Conference 2018 – Pub Charity have provided a grant for the costs of accommodation for this years Conference to be held at the St Francis Retreat in Auckland.

This conference gives us the opportunity to provide workshops, speakers and presentations to our regional Liaison Officers over a period of 3 days. This year ACC are presenting workshops on their Behavioural Support and Concussion Services.

We also have the opportunity to identify local and regional issues in the Brain Injury area and to also plan and coordinate future activities on a National scale.

Feedback from our regional Liaison Officers is important in identifying trends and helping to drive national policy and advocacy strategies.


Hastings Leader – Hawkes Bay Brain Injury Association are running a programme in schools to promote concussion awareness. Storford Lodge Rotary have again supported the initiative. The full story can be read here.
